Who is this bootcamp for?

It is intended for people interested in starting a career as a barista, whether starting from scratch or with certain knowledge or interests. It's also perfect for those who already have some experience but want to consolidate their knowledge with more detailed, professional, and formal training.

Theoretical, sensory, and practical content will be covered. The bootcamp provides all the tools and knowledge necessary for a person starting from scratch to have the trainings necessary for defending yourself perfectly in a cafeteria and applying for a job vacancy as a barista or start your own business.

We guarantee a job interview with the manager of a specialty coffee shop, allowing you to practice in a real-life job search situation and potentially land a position there.

Content by day:

MONDAY. (10am-6pm)

Types of coffee: origins, varietals, processes and roasting.

Fundamentals of coffee tasting and sensory analysis.

Olfactory phase: aromas and their different families.

Basic tastes: acidity, bitterness, sweetness, saltiness, umami.

Body, texture and intensity.

Brazilian cupping.

Exam: triangulation tasting.

TUESDAY. (9am-5pm)

Professional equipment: grinders, espresso machines, parts, tools, and workspace. How to choose the right machine for me.

Espresso making: technique, steps, channeling, common mistakes.

What is a ratio: the espresso recipe.

Types of milk and steaming technique: temperature and texture.

Introduction to latte art and practice.

Cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

Test: espresso + coffee with milk using correct technique.

WEDNESDAY (9am-5pm).

Creating espresso recipes based on coffee: grinder calibration and extraction variables.

Refractometry: the measurement of coffee extraction and intensity.

Practice with refractometer.

Classic and modern espresso drink preparations.

Advanced latte art: different designs, symmetry, contrast and balance.

Exam: making two different latte art figures.

THURSDAY (7:30am-4pm)

Opening a Coffee Shop: Visit one of our coffee shops to observe the actual protocols.

Visit a coffee roaster: discover the roasting, packaging, and quality control processes.

Production tasting in the roaster.

Introduction to filtered coffee (brewing).

Coffee making using different methods.

Test: Correct preparation of filter coffee.

FRIDAY (9am-5pm)

Blind tasting: describing a coffee.

Workflow in a cafe: bar efficiency and high-demand work.

Sensory description of an espresso.

Alternative drinks: matcha, tea, chai, hot chocolate and iced drinks.

General review and resolution of doubts.

Job interview: from a real company with specialty coffee shops.

Terms and conditions

Course prices reflect the following:

  • The quality of the training received is based on years of experience in the coffee and education sectors.
  • Class preparation.
  • The quality of the equipment and materials used, as well as the consumables
  • Very small groups.
  • Continuing education for teachers through courses, conferences, forums, etc.

** Cancellation Policy:

When you purchase a spot for a course, you will receive an email confirming your reservation, and we will begin preparing the class. However, the number of spots available to the public will be reduced by the same number you booked, and if the course is full, it will no longer be available for purchase. While we understand unforeseen events caused by illness or accidents, our refund policy will reflect the costs incurred in preparing that class and in the event that the spot was not available to another buyer.

  • The fee will be fully refunded if the course is canceled at least 21 days before the course begins. Students may also be offered another available date if they prefer a refund.
  • A 50% cancellation fee will be charged if the course is canceled or changed between 21 days and 48 hours before the course is scheduled to begin. A 50% discount voucher will be issued for the next course, but the purchase must be made again.
  • No refunds will be issued nor will a student be offered a rescheduled date if the student does not attend the course or cancels with less than 48 hours' notice.
  • In the event of a confirmed attendance of only 1 participant, the company has the right not to hold the course and offer the option of a refund or alternative date.
